Prototype building

In this section you can find more information about some prototypes that were built by the IceBear and the AirBear.
They were designed to solve some everyday problems with the help of a microcontroller. So we used Arduino boards to build some useful tools.

This is just an overview. If you want to learn more, klick in the respective item in the menu on the left.

The IPM
Instant Personal Messenger
The IPM was invented for the purpose of sending messages directly into my living room.
The reason for the invention was simple: when I'm not at home but would like to skype there was no way of telling when I was online (at the other end of the world). So either one computer had to be on all the time or I'd have to find another solution to that problem.
You can find more information about the invention in a short animation on the IPM main page.
The ChriLCU
Christmas Lighting Control Unit
While the purpose is obvious the reason for this invention may not be so obvious:
I used to have all the christmas lighting connected to a total of eight timers throughout the house and the garden. Unfortunately they did not run at the exact same speed. In addition, the fixed "on"-time did not match the changing dusk time at that time of year...
Look at the ChriLCU to see how the problem was solved.

You need a micro-controller solution?
Maybe we can help! Just write an email and we'll see if we can find the solution to your sensing and/or controlling problem!
